Recently we have started a series on the Glory as a result of a word we received about being “Guardians of the Glory”. One thing we have learned is that when you begin to talk about something, it invites that very thing into your midst. As a result of this, one of our ladies’ groups decided that we would reignite soaking sessions where we just rest in the presence of God surrounded by worship music.
At the first session, I saw a strange sight. I saw a beautiful dragonfly with iridescent wings flitting all over the place in front of me. One of the other girls saw a sapphire stone. We decided to sit on it to see what was the relevance of this phenomenon. Later that day, a prophet we know posted a picture of a large dragonfly on his knee. This was followed by a message I received about delivery of a book I was waiting for. The message came from Dragonfly delivery! Then, later on, my husband and I went to a restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated next to a sliding glass door on to the patio portion of the restaurant. We barely got a chance to look at our menu when a waitress working there opened the door exclaiming to us that she just saw the biggest dragonfly she had ever seen in her life!
If that was not enough, the girl who saw the sapphire, came up to me on Sunday and told me she saw in the natural two of the biggest dragonflies she had ever seen in her life with iridescent wings. So, I thought that I would look up dragonflies. To my amazement, dragonflies have four wings. Their eyes are very complex and they can see in every direction, 360 degrees! It’s like they have eyes all around. OK. Eyes and Wings.
For several weeks prior to this, I had been studying the first chapter of Ezekiel and in particular, the four living creatures. So why was I seeing dragonflies? And why was Heather seeing a sapphire? Several reliable prophets I have run into and who have seen the four living creatures, talk about how large they are! Much bigger than we imagine! They have four wings! They guard the throne and the glory of the throne. In Ezekiel’s vision, the throne was made of sapphire!
And in the fire, was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man, but each of them had four faces and four wings.
Ezekiel 1:5,6
As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature….Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around. Ezekiel 1: 15, 18.
Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire. Ezekiel 1: 26
Could it be that God was speaking parabolically that the Glory of the Lord and the throne of God is drawing ever closer to earth?
Last Sunday, as we spoke on the Glory that invaded the Tent of Meeting in Moses’ day, the awe of God came into the room! At one point, the worship leader gently said, “Come to the altar” during the worship, and many came and knelt in the incredible awesome presence of God.
There were many who came to the Tent of Meeting with their requests in Moses’ day, but there were two who went in just to be immersed in the Glory. Moses and Joshua knew that the strategies they needed to lead a people was not found in natural reason. It would take a supernatural download from a God whose ways were higher, to navigate these people through the harsh wilderness. Every strategy that Moses received was beyond what his mind could fathom. He needed the Glory. We need the glory. Without it, what makes us different from anyone else on the earth?
